To achieve a world in which homes and communities include spaces to grow food, AREAFA is working to set the necessary standards, including:
· Eliminating regulatory barriers to entry for those who want to include food production space on their properties;
· Development of ‘best practices’ for construction based on location, climate, building product type, topography, and other factors;
· Adjusting building codes, zoning regulations, and planning rules at the state and federal levels to accommodate food production systems.
